After I built my makeshift home server, I was struggling to find services to host on it. I was reading lists from various websites and stumbled across NextCloud.
What is Nextcloud? Nextcloud is an open-sourced cloud storage provider that you can install on any Linux server. Basically, It’s like your own Google Drive. That’s, not all that you can do with it though, using what they call “Nextcloud Office”, you are able to make/edit documents right in the browser, make presentations, and spreadsheets. Theirs much more you can do, but I would be here for hours writing down all of the features.
What am I using it for? Well, I am using it to sync files between all of my computers. Using the desktop client you are able to sync folders from mac and windows and sync them to the server. Then, you can sync files from the server to a folder on a different computer. I use it to sync my coding projects between my two desktops and my laptop. I am also using it to share files at the original quality with people who needs said file. Also, to serve as a file server for my projects like my Windows11Deployer.
For now, only I have access to add files and such but hopefully, I can allow people to share files with me using my own cloud server.
